Odisha has own the Krishi Karman Award for 2014-2015 as the best performing state in overall foodgrains production.
The award consists of a trophy, a citation, a cash amount of Rs 5 crore, instituted by Union Ministry of Agriculture. The cabinet dedicated the award to our hard working farmers, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik tweeted.
The state government would continue its effort in improving agriculture and encourage the farming community.

In a letter to Odisha government, the centre asked the state government to select one man and woman farmer for receive the award for their contribution to farming as progressive and innovative farmers.
As Odisha category- II state, produced 118 lakh metric tonne of foodgrains in 2014-15 against 96 lakh metric tonne in 2013-14, official added.
