As the crime branch digs deeper into the financial transactions of Surendra Mishra, Aka Sura Bab, it has come to the fore that the self styled godman had purchased vast plots of land valued at crores of rupees in Odisha and outside. The land was bought in the name of Sura Baba, his family members and Trahi Achyuta Ashram.
So far, we have found that he had bought nearly 85 acres of land, spread all over Odisha and in other states. He owned a one-acre plot at Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh, a small patch of land in Kolkata and Two plots in Bihar, ADG B K Sharma told on Thursday.

while nearly 37 acres were registered in the name of Trahi Achyuta Ashram in name of his elder son, Trilochan Mishra, Sharma said.
The probe agency has formed three separate teams that will do physical verification of the land and official records at tehsil offices.
We will see whether genuine transactions were made between the sellers and buyers, Sharma said.
On August 31, the commissionerate of police had arrested Sura bab and his two sons for attacking some Schedule Caste people at the Ashram.
