In Ramagiri village, it is rare for anyone to even dream of studying in college. but 24-year old Rama Naga, who is from this very small village in Maoist-hit Boipariguda block, is not only pursuing his higher studies at the prestigious Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) in New Delhi but has also been elected as the general secretaryof the JNU students' union (JNUSU).
Rama Naga is youngest of three brothers and a sister. his father is a BPL farmer and bangle seller.

Naga, a second-year Mphil student at JNU, contested the election as a candidate from the CPI (M-L)'s students' wing All India Students Association (ALSA) and defeated ABVP's Devendra Singh Rajput.
After completing his schooling at Ramagiri high school and intermediate at Boipariguda College, Naga joined Vikram Dev Autonomous College of Jeypore from where he completed his graduation in political science in 2012 before moving to JNU the same year to join MA in the subject.
