The State Government has decided to take up construction of roads, flyovers and railway overbridges on Public Private Partnership (PPP) mode.
A decision to this effect was taken at a high level meeting presided by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik at the Secretariat here. About Rs 6,111 crore will be spent within 15 years for construction on PPP mode.
Official sources said 27 km road and three km long flyover will be constructed under the Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT)-toll model. An estimate of Rs 395 crore has been made for this and Rs 22.8 crore will have to be paid during 15 years.
Similarly, 11 road projects of 395 km have been included in BOT (toll + annuity) model. The project cost will be Rs 1,827 crore while private partner will be paid Rs 2,322 crore in 15 years.

Official sources said 10 road projects, three flyovers and 12 railway overbridges will be taken up under the BOT annual hybrid model. Under the model, the construction agency will be paid 40 per cent of the cost in one time and rest will be paid annually in equal instalment. The project cost will be Rs 2,010 crore while the construction company will be paid Rs 3,764 crore in 15 years.
Similarly, 212 km road of three projects will be taken up under Object-Modelling Technique (OMT) model (toll). The project cost will be Rs 78.5 crore. Chief secretary GC Pati and senior officials were present.
