Odia sprinter Dutee Chand's dream of training overseas for the 2016 Rio Olympics may come true as chief minister promised her all possible help from the state government in this regard.
Naveen Patnaik felicitated the 19-year old sprinter at the state secretariat. Dutee Chand recently won three gold medals in three different events including 100 metre, 200 metre, and 4x100 metre at the 55th National Open Athletic Championship in Kolkata.

The sprinter Dutee, who belongs to a poor weaver family, was barred from participating in the commonwealth games last year due to the hyper-androgenism regulation of International Associatin of Athletics Federations (IAAF).
In July 2015, the court of Arbitration for sport in Lausanne, Switzerland, partially upheld her appeal against the IAAF regulation and allowed her to participate in International events.
